AMDS Hub - your independent guide to the AMDS
Today's post is to announce the launch of a new resource from The Datastack; the AMDS Hub.
Located at amdshub.co.nz, the AMDS Hub is your independent guide to the New Zealand Asset Management Data Standard.
The AMDS project is set to have a transformative effect on data in the land transport sector... so it is useful to know a bit about what is going on. And the AMDS Hub is here to help you with this.
The site is a beautiful example (in my completely unbiased opinion) of using ArcGIS Pro + the ESRI StoryMaps platform to tell an informative story about a project.
And it is really easy to use … just point your browser to amdshub.co.nz to get there.
Who is the AMDS Hub for?
The AMDS Hub is designed to give you a basic introduction to what the AMDS project is all about.
The site has been designed for those working in and around the land transport sector. It has also been designed for anyone else that might be interested in what is happening with the AMDS. As not everyone needs to know all the technical details of the AMDS, there is a focus on using simple examples and non-jargony language to explain key concepts.
This makes the AMDS Hub a great starting point for those learning about the standard for the first time. Or for those wanting to follow along with the project, in just enough detail, to know what is going on.
Neat features to check out
As metioned above, the site has been built using ArcGIS Pro + ESRI StoryMaps. The data shown is using publicly-available information on the official AMDS project site.
With the site being based on ESRI technology, this means there are some beautiful interactive maps to look at, including the implementation tracker (pictured below) and an asset value map ....
There are also non-jargony examples describing how the AMDS will work ....
And there are embedded resources directly from the AMDS project itself including a YouTube video and the project timeline ....
And that is not all. There is heaps more information about the AMDS including the article links, downloads and more.
What are you waiting for?
